The Idaho Association of REALTORS® offers a $750 Higher Education Scholarship.

If you or someone you know plans to attend college in 2012-2013 school year, please review the complete requirements and application. Preference is given to applicants with a family member who is a REALTOR®, attending an Idaho school, and studying business or real estate. It is open to any college student of sophomore standing or above.

Applications are due June 15, 2012.

Mark is a friend who has been there for each of us time and time again. As you may know, last month Mark suffered a serious stroke. After a lengthy hospital stay he is finally home with his family. While Mark is fortunate that there may be few lasting physical effects, his brain has been severely injured and healing it will take much longer than originally anticipated. Regaining his speech and ability to communicate will take a combination of intensive therapy and a lot of rest. As sole provider for his family, the financial burdens of Mark's therapy and his inability to work right now are very great. Mark needs to focus exclusively on his healing until he is able to go back to work and provide for his family again. Until then Mark, Heather and Ethan need our help.

 At NAR’s request, the affidavit that Freddie Mac requires servicers to obtain to help curb fraud in short sale transactions has been changed to reduce practitioners’ unreasonable exposure to liability. NAR members had expressed concern that the original language left them open to liability for statements made by parties to the transaction over which they had no control.

 2011 NAR President Ron Phipps discusses his meeting with Federal Housing Finance Administration Acting Director Ed DeMarco about the importance of reinstating the higher loan limits, and the positive effect it will have on ensuring that the American Dream of home ownership remains affordable for the middle class.
